About me

About me

Passionate about the sea and boats, I have built my career around these two areas.

After university studies in Mechanical Engineering, I joined the École Nationale des Arts et Métiers (National School of Arts and Crafts) with a specialization in Mechanics and Materials.

I began my career at the French Nautical Industries Federation (FIN), where I was responsible for studying the impact of a new European standard on the production of pleasure boats in France. In this role, I met with numerous French naval architects and the technical managers of most French shipyards. I was a member of an international working group (WG18).

I then joined the ICNN (French Institute for Certification and Standardization in the Nautical Industry). I was in charge of the structure of boats up to 24m, rigid inflatable boats (RIBs), and equipment. For five years, I conducted countless on-site inspections, structural calculations, stability assessments, and compliance checks for over a hundred boats.

I joined Bureau Veritas in 2008 as a structure and hull surveyor on all types of vessels: supply ships, bulk carriers, passenger ships, etc. In 2012, I became Head of Marine Renewable Energies, which allowed me to combine my commitment to sustainable development with my engineering expertise.

In 2011, I founded Arcus, a company dedicated to my work in engineering and expertise for recreational and racing vessels. I led the design, construction, and optimization of numerous offshore racing boats, with which I participated in major ocean races (Route du Rhum 2014 – 4th in Class 40, Route du Rhum 2018 – 8th in IMOCA, etc.). I finished the 2020 Vendée Globe and placed 12th in the 2018-2021 Offshore World Championship.

Since 2018, with Time For Oceans, I have been developing a low-environmental-impact boat concept. Numerous innovations were implemented on my IMOCA for my participation in the 2020 Vendée Globe. R&D work supported by ADEME (the French Agency for Ecological Transition) and numerous technical partners has enabled us to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% while maintaining budget and performance. The culmination of this work, the DG 5.5, a 5.5-meter scow sailboat that is fast, economical, and environmentally friendly, was presented at the 2025 La Rochelle Boat Show.

I am also involved in passenger sailing transport; I joined the company Insail as Head of Maritime Strategy and later as a partner. The first line will be opened in 2027 in the Canary Islands archipelago on an innovative, low-carbon boat.
