Time For Oceans has partnered with Jérôme Clément to build the DG 5.5 – a 5.5-meter scow with a low environmental impact construction. In addition to a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions, the specifications call for a simple, fast, beachable, and transportable sailboat optimized for day sailing along the coast and allowing overnight stays in open anchorages.
Jérôme is an expert in epoxy-coated wood construction. He has already designed, drawn, and built numerous boats, including the Bagou 7.0, voted electric boat of the year in 2019. Time For Oceans brings its offshore racing experience to guarantee performance and ergonomics.
The boat is currently under construction in Lorient and will be presented at the Grand Pavois boat show in La Rochelle in September.
The DG 5.5 demonstrates that the environmental impact of new construction can be significantly reduced while maintaining performance and budget. This solution can be applied to vessels of any size, whether racing or cruising.
